The Center welcomes families to join us once a month to practice mindfulness together.  Families will gather in the main meditation hall for morning chants and short mindfulness practice, then children ages 2 and older are invited into our community room for yoga, mindfulness-based games, stories, and other activities that explore Shambhala principles, while parents and caregivers remain in the main hall for further meditation practice and discussion of parenting as path.  We will end the day with a potluck meal shared together - please bring a dish to pass!  Caregivers of children 2 and younger are asked to stay with their children throughout the program.  Please pack a snack/water for your child and have proper outerwear in case we go outdoors.

If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering with our program, please contact Rebekka at [email protected]

Program is lead by Rebekka Henriksen and Suzanne Martin.  Rebekka is a long time Shambhala Buddhist practitioner and meditation instructor, and mother of three young children.  She has been involved in the development and teaching of family dharma programs and Parenting as Path for the last decade.  Suzanne works at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, is a mother, and the founder and director of Holistic Youth Project, a nonprofit that brings yoga and mindfulness based practices into schools in the Capital Region.
