Japanese flower arranging, also called Ikebana, can be practiced as a contemplative art. Under the guidance of Shastri Ellen Rook, students will learn to create flower arrangements and experience Ikebana as a creative and meditative dance with nature, space, and perception. Like meditation, Ikebana teaches us to really look at and work with what is before us.

The day-long workshop is an opportunity for participants to create arrangements, practice, and learn together. The program will conclude with a 'flower show' to celebrate the day's creation.

Our Generosity Policy

In order to make our programs accessible to everyone, we have a “pay what you can afford” policy. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please decide what works for you and offer whatever you can.

For those who can offer more, we invite you to pay more to help cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
