Meditation in Everyday Life is a 4-week course that teaches mindfulness meditation and shows how this practice can enrich our daily lives in the most practical sense. Discover what happens when we simply rest with whatever arises in the freshness of the present moment. Meditation practice cultivates courage and stability in the midst of jobs, responsibilities, relationships, and the everyday uncertainties that we all encounter.

This is the first class in the Way of Shambhala curriculum. It offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of an enlightened society created through mindfulness-awareness meditation. The stability and wisdom cultivated through meditation practice can expand to benefit the world around us.

In addition to the program fee, there are two recommended books we invite you to purchase for the class (available through all major booksellers).

  •  Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chögyam Trungpa

Each class runs approximately 2 hours and covers the following ground:

Class 1 - 4/20: Resting in Peace, the Ground of Meditation
Class 2 - 4/27: Gathering the Mind and Feeling Our Emotions
Class 3 - 5/04: Overcoming the Obstacles to Meditation 
Class 4 - 5/11: Meeting the World with an Open Heart

No previous meditation experience is required; newcomers are more than welcome.
