Community Discussion For Decision on Chants for Center

June 12th

    Room: Meditation Hall
Chanting is a proclamation of the dharma.  It is a practice itself.  Each time you say a chant, different words or phrases or teachings stand out.  Or you notice that you did it in autopilot. That noticing is also a part of your path.
Chanting can also be done at home, rousing our hearts, our connection to the teachings, and our intentions in the morning.  And, in the evening, providing a sense of the entire day in the context of the teachings.
In the almost 50 years since Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche began teaching in English in America, there have been many wonderful chants.  We can look at some of those as well as current ones.
Please come to a discussion of the possibilities of chants we could use.  Offer your insight and opinions.  Let's make a decision on what should be included in SMCA chant books.  Wednesday June 12, 2019 from 6:30 - 8 PM.
If you can't attend but have something helpful to say about chanting at the center, email me at [email protected]
