The first volume of The Profound Treasury, The Path of Individual Liberation, presents the Hinayana, the core Buddhist teachings on the practice of meditation, the reality of suffering, and the possibility of liberation. This book group, open to newcomers, meets monthly on a Monday evening.

From 1973 to 1986, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche conducted thirteen seminaries and gave over three hundred talks. He structured these seminaries according to the three main stages of the Buddhist path laid out in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition: hinayana, Mahayana, and vajrayana. The hinayana introduces core Buddhist teachings on the nature of mind, the practice of meditation, the reality of suffering, and the possibility of liberation."

From the Editor's Introduction of Volume One Acharya Emeritus Judith Lief

You’re welcome to drop in on a monthly basis if you can’t make the entire series ($5-10 per evening donation suggested; everyone welcome regardless of ability to offer a donation). Reading assignments for each month will be posted on this web page.
